This is a Microsoft Excel Worksheet for coupon tracking.

Below are screen shots explaining how it works.

This is the actual file.  Click the image to the left to download the Coupons.xls (Microsoft Excel Worksheet) to your hard drive.  A dialog box will appear asking if you want to OPEN or SAVE the file.  Select SAVE and browse to where you want to save the file to on your computer.  Review the images below to understand how to use the worksheet.  Happy Couponing!

This is a full screen look at the worksheet.  Very simple in design, but it has some cool features to make your life easier!  There are formulas, special formatting, pre-defined categories and a macro!

This screen shot shows the predefined list of categories.  This list allows you to simply select a category in Column A on the worksheet from a pull-down menu.  What could be easier?

This is a macro button.  A macro allows you do to multiple steps with one click!  This macro will add 5 new rows to the bottom of the worksheet (above the total line) and format them all!  One tip:  Be sure you have AT LEAST ONE blank line when you click the macro.  Each click on this macro button adds 5 new rows (i.e.: 5 clicks adds 25 new rows).  You must enable your macros, click here to find out how.

This is some special dating I added.  The labels are in Column B, that correspond to the dates in Column A.  This is very helpful for when you are pulling coupons to add to trains!  The color coding in Column C is explained in Column D.  This alerts you to coupons that have already expired or are due to expire sometime soon.  This color coding appears in the Expiration Date (Column E)

This screen shot shows the Categories I explained earlier.  You select a blank row, and click on the cell in Column A (Category).  You will see a small upside triangle/arrow, click that, and you will see the category list displayed as shown.  Use the scroll bar to scroll down for additional choices.

This is a screen shot of my personal worksheet.  I keep up on the expired coupons!  Okay, look at the top right corner.  See where it says OLDEST?  That means your oldest coupon is whatever date is below, and then the number listed in pink displays how many TOTAL coupons you have with that date.  As you remove old coupons, that number will change, and once you get all of those, your oldest date will also change.  For example, I have 2 that will expire on 1/19/05 as shown on this worksheet.  This allows you to keep up with expired coupons to keep your list clean for trades!

Now, look at the very bottom of this worksheet.  Highlighted in yellow is a total box.  this tells you how many coupons you have entered.  This number is based on the Quantity (Column B) you enter.  As you can see, I have entered coupons from Row 6-1086 (1080 rows), but the total number of coupons I have right now is 1915.  This number will update itself as you add and remove coupons.

To delete expired coupons you should do the following (this will avoid any accidental deletions of your master category list):

  • Select the cells for the coupon, in Column A-E (as shown in first picture).  Once you select them, they will be highlighted

  • Place your cursor anywhere OVER the highlighted row and RIGHT CLICK your mouse.  A menu will appear (as shown in second picture).

  • Select DELETE from the menu.

  • A Delete menu will appear.  Select the second option, Shift Cells Up (as shown in third picture).

  • Click OK
